AberVeg is a website that hopes to synchronise Activeg, the Aberystwyth local veg*an group and the university society called TELL (The Ethical Living Liaison) run by students on campus. I would like to encourage students with TELL to also visit the local group and hope that over upcoming months, TELL and Acti (aber)Veg will join forces.

TELL has got off to a roaring start attracting not only vegetarians and vegans but also people who are seeking an ethical lifestyle. The meetings are weekly or bi-weekly and encompass a range of veg educational movie-nights and debates with high-profile public speakers and authorities, for example the recent vivisection debate. There are also food give-aways, information stalls, pot-luck suppers and games-socials.

Acti/Aber Veg local group are a motivated group of like-minded individuals with a lot of energy and ideas, attended by locals and students. The group was formed after a Viva talk last December and has been running ever since starting with leaflet drops and then moving on to a free food stall with kind donations from Fry's and Zedzfoods, fundraising raffle. The group meet weekly on Thursdays at the second-hand bookshop in town and also put out a monthly publication called the “White Rabbit” to be found in Treehouse, Shelley's secondhand bookshop, Patisserie Florentine and other selected venues and information stalls.
