Treehouse Wales - Abersytwyth
Vegan-friendly cafe
The Treehouse is a wonderful part of Aberystwyth.
The shop has two parts; a grocery shop which stocks organic local and seasonal where possible, fruit and veg, fresh bread, and healthfood items such as soy products, nuts, dried fruit, organic (many vegan) beers and wines, biscuits, cakes... and a great take-out fridge of salad pots and pies, pastries and tarts, flapjacks, smoothies etc.
You can also buy a cup of soup and a roll for your lunch. The other shop is across the road called Treehouse TLC and stocks eco-friendly household items, clothing (organic hemp and cotton), bath products, supplements, cosmetics, stationary, books, paints, cutting boards etc etc etc.
The cafe upstairs does breakfast and lunch. They are happy to supply soy alternatives to all dairy products and label their numerous daily vegan options clearly. They usually have gluten-free options also. All is home-cooked and hand-made fresh upon order.
The prices are reasonable and the sizes are generous. There is a standard menu with many vegan options, daily specials which include at a minimum 2 vegan options, and 2 soups of the day which are rarely anything but vegan. The cake cabinet is to die for again with at least one vegan dessert option, usually more.
Have a read of the menu.
